Back for its second year, By The Bootstraps 2010 is continuing to explore the connections between art and music with two local artists coming together to build a set unseen. They will be taking over Argyle Fine Art during the week of the Halifax Pop Explosion with an indoor forest installation complete with fake trees and AstroTurf.

The artwork portion of the evening will consist of custom instrument design and pieces of artwork built specifically for local musicians by artist Nick Brunt, actively investigating influence and inspiration through physical form. By The Bootstraps is excited to announce this year will also feature an exclusive showcase presentation of Orphanage Clothing’s one-of-a-kind stage wear for musicians, with a tableaux style fashion presentation throughout the gallery.

Alongside Tarek Abouamin, who has produced a short film for the evening, Nick Brunt and Kim Munson have created a show and a world inside the gallery that is essential viewing for the Halifax Pop Explosion. To cap it off there will be a number of special musical guests. And oh yeah, did we mention it’s completely free?!
