The Halifax Pop Explosion (HPX) announces Basia Bulat with Symphony Nova Scotia (Friday, October 22) as the first act confirmed for the festival’s 2010 line-up. Taking place from October 19-23, HPX is happy to announce that early bird passes are on sale now for the lowest prices in the festival’s 18 years history. The festival is also hosting a fundraiser show on June 04 at The Paragon with In-Flight Safety, Andrew Watt & The Glory Glory, Milks & Rectangles, Racoon Bandit .

Sunday, March 14th, 2010Soaring vocals. Soul-baring lyrics. Intricate instrumentation. Polaris Prize nominee Basia Bulat has earned massive critical and audience acclaim for her delicate, folksy sound, and her latest record Heart of My Own is “fantastic, endearing stuff” (BBC).
Now, after selling out concerts from coast to coast, Basia joins Symphony Nova Scotia as part of the Halifax Pop Explosion, Friday October 22, 2010.
Basia returns to Halifax after playing two fantastic shows with Owen Pallett (Final Fantasy) at a special Halifax Pop Explosion presents show at St. Matthew’s Church this past February.
