Halifax Pop Explosion official launches today across the great city of Halifax! We’ve got 5 jam-packed days of awesome bands, conference specials, and all kinds of awesome events going down. To pick up your passes, wristbands, tickets, etc… come down to the Citadel Hotel located at 1960 Brunswick Street from 11am to 7pm Tuesday to Saturday this week.

Citadel Hotel is the place for a series free shows throughout the week including tonight’s OPENING RECEPTION Party! Come down to get your pass, meet fellow festival goers and eat some cake! We’ve got DJ James Reid spinning the tunes, followed by Iceland’s own Snorri Helgason and local sensation Long Long Long tearing it up at the party!

Following the opening reception party is three AWESOME shows going down tonight. Mark Sultan and guests will be kicking up a punk rock meets doo-wop storm at Gus’ Pub, High on Fire and crew will be burning down the house (not literally) at the Paragon Theatre and The Superfantastics will be blowing sweet indie pop bubbles at the Seahorse tonight. Festival merchadise has arrived at the Halifax Pop Explosion office! Look for these awesome t-shirt and hoodies at our merchandise station at the Citadel Hotel and at our large venues such as Paragon Theatre, St. Matthew’s Church and the Seahorse.
