Since 2015, as Artistic Director and Festival Manager at Riverfest Elora, Spencer has played an integral role in guiding the festival through a period of rapid growth. Over that time, Riverfest Elora has grown from just 1000 patrons in 2013, to over 16,000 in 2019. 2020 will mark the 12th annual installment of Riverfest with its biggest lineup to date. Riverfest acquires a wide range of talent from many different genres to fill its musical lineup. Highlights from 2019 included City and Colour, The Joel Plaskett Emergency, The Sheepdogs, The Mighty Mighty Bosstones, Alice Merton and A Tribe Called Red.
Since the fall of 2015 Spencer has curated Dead Radio, Love; a new music series held in Elora, Guelph and KW, Ontario, which has seen many successful and sold out performances by a plethora of touring artists.
More recently, Spencer has taken on the role of Community Development, Culture & Special Event Coordinator for the Township of Centre Wellington.
From 2007 until October of 2016, Spencer oversaw the Fortnight Music Series, hosting countless Canadian and international acts performing in various venues throughout Guelph, ON and the surrounding area.
Previously, Spencer has sat on the Board Of Directors for the Hillside Festival (2007 – 2012) and CFRU 93.3FM (2010, 2011), worked as Artistic Director and Event Manager for Waterstock (2017) and 100 Mile Riot (2012, 2013), curated and managed the Fortnight Music Series (2007 to 2016), acted as label manager for SunnyLane Records (2005 to 2008), Alcohol Services Coordinator at the Guelph Jazz Festival (2011-2013), Event Manager for the Cornerstone Cafe (2011 – 2013) and Talent Buyer and Event Manager for The Albion Hotel (2007-2011)
